Welcome to Asarune

Where angels rule the sky and witches guard the mountains

They say Asarune was born from rebellion, stitched together by angels who fell too far to return.

Beneath its floating cities, the cursed lands still burn with human memory.

Somewhere between heaven and ruin, destiny waits for anyone brave enough to find it.

Meet the Souls of Asarune

Hi, it's nice to meet you

FABLE, The Fallen

Half-angel, half-human, haunted by both worlds.

Cursed by his father Onyx, Fable hides among mortals until destiny drags him back to the sky. He’s brilliant, impulsive, and utterly lost between light and shadow.

ONYX, The Ruler

An angel who conquered Asarune… and lost his soul to power.

Onyx craves control, and hides behind perfection. His empire floats, but his foundations crack with every lie he tells.

this image shows Beatrix standing in a shadowy forest, cloaked in deep maroon and wrapped in mystery. The dim, cool lighting creates an atmosphere of tension and secrecy, as if she’s either hunting someone or being hunted. Her braided hair, steady gaze, and tight, utilitarian outfit suggest she’s skilled, cautious, and ready for whatever danger lurks in the dark woods.

BEATRIX, The Witch Matriarch

A warrior turned mentor, a mother born of grief.

Beatrix commands the Witch Mainlands with wit sharper than any blade. Her hands carry both creation and destruction, and her heart carries the ache of wars long lost. Yet even amidst the ashes, one truth endures: her love for Violet, fierce and unyielding, the flame that neither time nor magic could silence.

VIOLET, The Healer of the Mountain

Gentle hands, dangerous mind.

Matriarch of the Mountain Witches and commander of dragons, Violet reads thoughts as easily as breathing. She has healed countless souls, yet her own remains trapped in the echo of loss.

Symphony stands under a mystical night sky with Midnight, a dark dragon behind her, its single golden eye glowing in the shadows.

SYMPHONY, The Dragon Rider

The first human to claim the sky in centuries.

Reckless, curious, and fiercely alive, Symphony rides her dragon through the ashes of broken kingdoms. Every flight defies the gods, and every scar tells the story of a girl who refused to kneel.

This image of David, the Guardian captures a moment of solemn reverence beneath the vast skies of Asarune. He stands in profile, his weathered face turned upward toward a towering golden cloud illuminated by the late sun. His expression is calm yet heavy with contemplation, as if he’s searching for meaning in the heavens above. The soft light paints the deep lines on his face, revealing a man aged by years of duty and endurance. His dark brown hair, beginning to gray, and his bushy beard streaked with silver add to his aura of quiet strength. David wears his simple light brown linen shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, exposing arms that still bear the power of a man forged by work and battle. His broad shoulders and solid frame are grounded against the tranquil landscape — a distant mountain peak rising beyond a forest bathed in warm dusk tones. The composition feels painterly and timeless, like an oil portrait honoring a forgotten hero. It radiates peace, humility, and resilience, showing David as both a man of the earth and a silent guardian of the skies he watches over.

DAVID, The Guardian

A farmer, a father, a man losing his mind to magic.

Cursed by faith and burdened by secrets, David protects Fable as his sanity slips away. In a world ruled by angels, he is proof that humanity still matters, even when it’s breaking.

About the Author

Mercedes A. Cooper grew up in Marmora, ON, Canada. In her childhood, she faced the challenge of dyslexia and only learned how to read fluently at the age of ten. Since then, she discovered a deep love for high fantasy books. By twelve, she started crafting her own fairy tales, a passion which led her to a professional writing career later.

In 2021, Mercedes started publishing the Red of Royal series, followed by LLM 3000, the first book in the Losers League of Misfits series, co-authored with her mother Elaine Gibbs. More releases came later, including her stand-alone novel Junipers Axel and Asarune Book 1, the first in an exciting new series.

Diversity has always been present in Mercedes’ writing. But only in early 2024 she took a personal step by coming out as a lesbian. This brave action led her to meet the person who she got married in April 2025. She believes that her stories offer readers narratives that resonate far beyond the realms of fantasy.

When not writing, Mercedes can be found painting for her family, children and friends or planning her next travel.
